With nearly three decades of experience in innovative solutions for sustainable tuna fishing, Zunibal had the honor of hosting MEP Isabelle Le Callennec at its facilities. The MEP had the opportunity to learn firsthand about the advanced solutions Zunibal develops in the field of intelligent satellite buoys. These buoys, designed and manufactured by Zunibal in Europe, incorporate artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies that optimize the identification of target species. Thanks to these innovations, fishers can plan more efficient routes, minimize fuel consumption, and reduce bycatch, significantly contributing to more sustainable fishing practices.<\/p>\n

Zunibal also presented its initiatives in collaboration with scientific institutions and NGOs aimed at reducing the environmental impact of fishing activities. These initiatives include the development of biodegradable Fish Aggregating Devices (FADs) and recovery programs for FADs at risk of stranding in sensitive areas such as the Seychelles and Palmyra. Zunibal is also exploring projects to repurpose satellite buoys for applications like tracking marine debris and modeling currents, thus fostering a circular economy.<\/p>\n
